Uhhh ... I know. And I knew the medieval scholar reference. I thought it was funny he heard it as "Asians." He had apparently concluded it must be "Asians" after deciding that "ancients dancing on a pin" made no sense. Though I suppose, in a sense, the scholars were ancients dancing on a pin.

Geez, how many of you guys really thought I thought my kid had discovered hidden bias in LiG?!? Dang. Gotta remember those clarifying footnotes and smiley faces :-)

if its any consolation, I get the lyrics wrong all the time.

And if were talking angels, how about my favorite. I always sing "down angel brown's, coal mine" for BIODTL. when it is actually "down in joe brown's, coal mine". There are many others where I still don't know exactly what the fuck they're saying. w/e!

You mean it's not?

Hah, I don't mind owning up to (many many) misheard lyrics. I really have heard that as Angel Brown's, too. Like, until this minute :-) Guess I've never analyzed the deep meaningfulness of BIODTL.

And there are many lyrics that I hear according to my original mishearing. By choice. In TOO, I know it's "comin' around," but I will always prefer my original (30-plus years ago) hearing of "love is all around." Isn't that nice? You can hear it that way, too, if you try ...

My favorite is still ringo's (and others) interpretation of Eyes....

"Wake up to find out that you are disguised as a squirrel"

Wake up to find out that you are disguised as a squirrel.
The heart has its peaches, its groveland and thoughts of its own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the Mormon brings.
The heart has its seizures, its evenings, and songs of its own.
